Don’t forget Sidney Flanigan’s powerful performance in Never Rarely Sometimes Always. This scene https://youtu.be/xDCsG0NSi4E makes we want her to get the 5th spot.

Andra is not winning for a film with a 5.2 score on IMDB.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

You’re argument is a little funny when there are other POC that are gonna get nominated and in the same category. Day isn’t a Hollywood legend and this is coming from someone who doesn’t want Close to win. I’m about halfway thru BH and the movie is awful. Day is giving her best and everyone around her is letting her down.

how many POC are getting into best actress? Davis and Day are the only contenders and Davis locked for the nomination. Billie Holiday isn’t awful and it’s not best actress in a BP nominee. Legend or no Legend, we’ve seen actresses get nominated and even win for mediocre/average performances (Emma Stone, Aparicio, etc) and for good performances in terrible movies (Julianne Moore, Glenn Close, Renée Zellweger). Why must the reviews for the film matter for Andra Day when she’s been getting raves? If the supporting cast is terrible, then that’s Andra’s fault because it’s an individual thing. She was great

Andra Day should be winning Best Actress

If Academy feels like awarding black woman this year trust me it won’t be Viola who’s already an Oscar winner and does her usual stuff in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. She was also overshadowed by her dead co-star. They love to discover new things. And Andra’s just that. She’s young fresh hot and gives helluva performance in transformative role. Also she’s the sole lead. Yes, the movie is horrendous but that has never stopped them from awarding someone. This year they’re definitely awarding young babe so it’s either Carey, Vanessa or Andra. Depends on who wins on Sunday.

She’s not good in the movie tho. At least other actresses could give a good performance in a bad film.

Lol, Emma Stone looks like Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice when compared to Day in BH.

She’s gives a fine performance, no way she should get a nod for this. Hell, Zendaya is better than Day.

Andra is not winning in a million years. The nomination will be her reward.

Someone who has never acted before is going to win an Oscar for their first film????? On what planet does that make an iota of sense????? Did you already forget that she ONLY has a GG and CC nod? Good grief, I guess that this is the latest forum trend, that she of all people is going to “win” the Oscar. You people do things by trend.

Andra is not winning for a film with a 5.2 score on IMDB.

    No SAG or BAFTA

    52 on MC

    56% on RT

We thought the Andra ship had sailed weeks ago but it seems like some still cling to the foolish idea of her winning with her debut performance

Inb4 “bbbut Regina King won without SAG and BAFTA ??”

She’s campaigning for the last spot and is clearly not touching anyone in the solid top 4. End of story

    FYC :

Best Actress - Viola Davis, Frances McDormand
Best Actor - Delroy Lindo, Chadwick Boseman
Best Supporting Actor - Colman Domingo, Glynn Turman
    Best Picture - Nomadland
    Best Director - Chloé Zhao
SAG Ensemble - Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
    Best Cinematography - Nomadland

Watch how Monsoon and Jackass say she’s ahead of Kirby and McDormand lmao.

Her nomination isn’t even guaranteed, but she gives a strong performance
