she’ll be lucky to get a nom. It’s showy, but not a true lead role and Glenda will overshadow her.

Day is not likely for the win. The last Best Actress win for a debut performance was Matlin in ‘86. Before that Streisand in ‘68. Expecting that kind of scenario in a category that is notoriously hard for woc is delusional

Yep. She can sneak in this weak field, but I don’t see her winning. Actually, I expect her to win original song (apparently she wrote one).

Maybe we can wait and see the actual movie? This is just assumption.

The dumb argument when Zendaya literally just won an Emmy, beating Laura Linney (whom never stood a chance yet was #1 here), Jennifer Aniston (with her clout) and many other contenders that were supposedly “ahead of her”… Andra IS getting nominated and a threat for the win. Viola Davis is stronger than the contenders but Andra will beyond beat her if it comes to both.

I made no argument, it was observation. The Emmys are nothing like the Oscars. Imagine comparing one of the most famous celebrities in the world, who is most definitely not a first time actress & has been a staple of the entertainment industry for years, to Andra Day…

It’s your first day and you’re already spilling whew!

Funny you say this when you’ve been banned like a hundred times and keep returning with a fake account to annoy us more with your incessant, obnoxious, aggressive spam.

Billie Holiday has such a tragic story. Day might be the surprise.

When was the last time two Singer biopics made it to BA?

I don’t see anyone other than Viola winning right now. Maybe Kirby or Day but this is surely Viola’s to lose.

I agree. If you don’t think this just watch that trailer again.

There was nothing win worthy in the trailer
