No expert on GoldDerby has “more” access to 6000 Academy members scattered around the globe. If anything, the pandemic means less campaign events, screeners, parties etc. for them to interact with each other, so an equal argument can be made for the experts being even more clueless than usual.
Either way, why are you people suddenly paying attention to what the “experts” say? Oscar pundits are literally no different from any of us, there are no “qualifications” when it comes to awards predicting.

I’ve decided to just stick with Davis. I’m sure that means I’m overestimating MRBB but predicting a 4/4 SAG matchup in acting makes sense to me in an uncertain race.
I might still adjust 2-4 but at the moment it’s:
3) Day (right down the middle since I’m struggling)
5) KirbyApril 22, 2021 at 3:02 pm #1204215625
Now Viola is preventing history from happening. LMAO. Victor should win Original Screenplay, because his ideas are truly wild.April 22, 2021 at 3:16 pm #1204215639
The way I want this all to be over so badly.. this season is TIRED.April 22, 2021 at 3:21 pm #1204215647
Not Victor switching from rooting for Vanessa to Carey to Andra to Frances (who he trashed quite a bit) to Viola now…
FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")April 22, 2021 at 3:33 pm #1204215665
I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this stat before but I was looking at all the SAG Best Actress winners who didn’t go on to win the Best Actress Oscar. Not including Meryl Streep in 2008 for Doubt because Kate Winslet was in the Supporting Actress category at SAG for The Reader that year.
Jodie Foster – Nell (lost to Jessica Lange – Blue Sky)
Annette Bening – American Beauty (lost to Hilary Swank – Boys Don’t Cry)
Julie Christie – Away from Her (lost to Marion Cotillard – La Vie en Rose)
Viola Davis – The Help (lost to Meryl Streep – The Iron Lady)
Glenn Close – The Wife (lost to Olivia Colman – The Favourite)
Besides Foster (which was the first year of the SAG Awards), all of them lost to an actress who portrayed a real person. This might bode well for Davis, as the only other person besides herself that is nominated for portraying a real person at the Oscars is Andra Day, and she wasn’t even nominated for SAG unlike the other past winners who beat out SAG champs.
