Shouldve been nomd: There was really no one else competing but I wanted Sophia or Meryl in LTAT from the campaigned onesI think my final choice is Mulligan, even though Davis is one of my favorite actresses. Davis delivered such a wonderful performance but it feels a bit theatrical. Although Fences was also based on a play just like Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, her performance in Fences was more outstanding and more authentic in my opinion. So I’m going with Mulligan because her role was really versatile. We could see a lot of different sides of her character.
