The Best Picture will be Nomadland with Chloe Zhao will win Best Directing.

The Trial Of Chicago 7 could upset (Imagine the chaos).

Then Minari, Promising Young Woman, and The Father comes next.

The most unlikely group are Mank, Sound Of Metal and Judas And The Black Messiah.

Best Director Ranked, based on winning chances:

1. Chloe Zhao, Nomadland

2. Emerald Fennell, Promising Young Woman

Nomadland is the undisputed frontrunner. But I still wouldn’t count out Minari to potentially surprise. I love that Chloe Zhao’s follow up is a big budget Marvel movie.

no, trial is 100% dead for losing PGA and not be nominated to oscar best diretor. PYW and minari have small chances yet

Where’s that Editing nom for Minari? Where’s the potential to win Screenplay? I’d put PYW at #2 cause of the SLIGHT chance of taking BAFTA

The Trial of the Chicago 7 will walk home empty handed like American Hustle did. That is unless the Academy provide a zoom option for attendees because then it will log off zoom empty handed.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 found dead in the ditch. I severely doubt it’s even the number two. Editing seems to be its best shot and even that is not a done deal since lone editing winners are rare. There’s a real chance it gets goose egged.

We would, however, still see people talking about other “upsets” because they don’t want any sweep and still expect their fav to win. I don’t blame them, but it’s getting delusional.
