ReplyCopy URLApril 13, 2021 at 9:01 pm #1204199526That non-story article has been sitting in my twitter trending tab for hours too. Blatantly bought. Replies are all calling it out for being garbage thankfully.

Lol, she worked for Weinstein right? It’s almost too funny, if it weren’t so gross.

true, although It end up losing script and editing at the oscars
ReplyCopy URLApril 14, 2021 at 11:55 am #1204200470Nomadland will win Picture, Director, and Adapted Screenplay, along with Cinematography. There’s no way that the most Oscars won by a film this year is 3, there will be at least one film that wins 4 Oscars. And it won’t be Ma Rainey because that film wasn’t nominated for Picture, Director, or Screenplay: it will be Nomadland.
Also, American voters don’t care about The Father. It didn’t win anything at CC, SAG, or the Golden Globes (despite the influence of the British block on the latter) and wasn’t even nominated at PGA. Only BAFTA has given it any major attention because of course they would, but the Oscars won’t give it anything.

Just like they didn’t care about 1917 or The Favourite right?

Everything Everywhere All at Once for everything, everywhere, all at onceApril 14, 2021 at 12:07 pm #1204200496After the BAFTA win i think the father has a shot at adapted screenplay. I still favor Nomadland though i fear that the father will win nothing because they dont owe any movie a win so i dont buy the „they have to award it SOMEWHERE“ stuff

This is the kind of thinking that kept the Father below ONIM and Ma Rainey in BP and Screenplay, and look how that turned out. The Father was strong enough to overperform on nominations day, it can easily do the same at the ceremony. Underestimate at your own peril.

I have it in third. I’m also going for it in Adapted Screenplay even though I wouldn’t be shocked if they do with Zhao what they did with Bong and AGI.
