Audience reviews for Da 5 Bloods are pretty negative (saying that it’s a disjoint film). It’s like two different movies when we learn their audience and critic scores. IMDB : 6.5 (shockingly low for a serious drama) RT critic score: 92% RT audience score: 53%
Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb are both known to be full of trolls.

You can’t say that because every film has its own haters and IMDB final ratings are actually very close to what GP think. (Blackkklansman: 7.5)
Trolls only happen to early reactions or when a film hasn’t wide released.
January 7, 2021 at 3:02 am #1203966978I am very jealous of Australians. Although I am glad you all get to experience both films on the big screen. I was fortunate to see Promising Young Woman on the big screen at GFF but I am actively jealous of anyone who gets to see Nomadland on the big screen. Even though I saw the latter on my laptop it truly was a cinematic experience and I can only imagine how it felt on the big screen.
Would love to hear your thoughts on Promising Young Woman @stringcheesetheory!
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

January 7, 2021 at 5:14 am #1203967059I have no idea how SAG voters are going to sit down and starting marking off their ballots on Monday after what unfolded yesterday and continues to unfold. I can’t only imagine it’ll be in direct response to it.

I just posted this on the SAG TV thread but I wonder if it may result in a Cate Blanchett snub for Mrs. America.
I think this also helps Yahya Abdul-Mateen’s chances.

I think this could result in three Chicago men nominated tbh. Although it could mean that Langella is done now. Even though it shouldn’t matter and he was great, I can’t see people voting for a racist asshole judge right now when SBC, Rylance and YAMII are right there.
For Your Consideration:
The Banshees of Inisherin in ALL categories, including:
- Best Picture
- Best Director
- Best Actor (Colin Farrell)
- Best Supporting Actor (Brendan Gleeson)
- Best Supporting Actor (Barry Keoghan)
- Best Supporting Actress (Kerry Condon)
- Best Supporting Actress (Sheila Flitton)
- Best Original ScreenplayLetterboxd: Ray_In_Bruges

Three nominees? This is not The Godfather.

I didn’t phrase it perfectly. I was talking about SAG. At the Oscars I still think only SBC is safe.

January 7, 2021 at 7:28 am #1203967231If this is good I think it’s going to be releasing at exactly the right moment to challenge for BP. A late-breaker is in a better position this year than it has been before and with the political edge and tone this is bound to have (the subject matter necessitates it) I can’t see it not striking a chord with voters. If it gets the reviews/ reception it needs, it’s only big obstacle is the WB debacle in my opinion. This is a great FYC ad too, and suggests distributors are very confident in it.

The WB debacle is the only reason I am not considering it to win BP. I hope I’m proven wrong but it’s very hard to win Picture when there are people lobbying against your film and your distributor’s films.

January 7, 2021 at 8:37 am #1203967329So they’re already campaigning.
God I just hope this film doesn’t whitewash history like Chicago 7. It’s a very important story.
