Is it bad that I’m only predicting Da 5 Bloods to garner a single nomination – Best
SupportingActor for Delroy Lindo? It’s quite a divisive film, and I just don’t see any major fanfare for it.“Da 5 Bloods” would be the Oscars BP nominee with the lowest IMDB ratings(6.5) in 20 YEARS and the least well-received film by audience among all contenders this year, if it got nominated.

I don;t think it’ll happen at the Oscars but I do feel like the Globes will give the win to Chicago 7 in Drama Film. And Screenplay of course because they love Sorkin.

Ir wasn’t an Oscar Best Picture nominee though which Promising Young Woman is expected to be.

January 14, 2021 at 1:23 am #1203982733The way people thought Chicago 7 was dead and it’s probably a runner up by now with a very chance at the win.
Nomadland please, hold your title.

Carol was heavily predicted to make the Best Picture lineup.
Edit: I just checked and it was #6 in the odds, which is higher than PYW currently.
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 14, 2021 at 3:08 am #1203982789I think people are overestimating how much of a visibility issue The Father has (a bit like they did with Pieces of a Woman). We saw how the BIFAs (who do have a crossover in membership with the BAFTAs and yes the Academy) nominated it 6 times and they’re one of the only industry groups who have announced their nominees so far.
I expect it to under-perform with Critics Choice when they announce their nominations but with the industry it’s fine.
