Looking at the list of nominated producers, Margot didn’t make the cut for PYW.

I still don’t think Sound of Metal is happening.

I think it’s above One night in Miami, The Father and even Ma Rainey’s. The passion is huge, everybody loves the film and its IMDB score is telling.

I have a feeling Regina King will be nominated for the DGA tomorrow.

It didn’t miss WGA but yes it’s over for News.

Thanks for the correction. I don’t why I remembered it missing WGA lol. I’ve edited the post.

Remember when some people here were saying News of the World might win Sound over SoM? Hahahahahahaha

Soul doesn’t deserve a best picture nomination.

I still can’t believe how many people were living in the delusion that no film with a predominantly Black cast would get into best picture at the Oscars just because the Golden Globes were being gross this year. It’s happening. It was always happening. Ma Rainey is for sure in with Chadwick being a lock to win.

variety sees it more on the side that regina may be the nominee for director at the oscars that is not nominated for the DGA

I think there’s a solid line up with Zhao, Fincher, Sorkin and Fennell, and then Lee Isaac Chung/Regina King for the last spot, speaking of DGA. For the Directing branch I see Chung way ahead of King.

It’s a win for IMDb again with the lowest-rating 2 contenders, D5B and News, missing PGA noms.

Meanwhile, the highest 2 besides Soul, Chicago7 and SoM, made it in.

The Father didn’t need PGA to get in. If it gets into BAFTA it’s in. If it misses Best Film it’s on shaky ground.

I think One Night in Miami… and Sound of Metal are on shaky ground and at the moment I think I’ll predict the latter over the former.

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

Anyway, as I’ve been saying since the very beginning of the race, Da 5 Bloods won’t go anywhere. The only place it can still get in is Supporting Actor and maybe Cinematography if it gets the ASC nom tomorrow.

The Father is the only BP contender I haven’t been able to see this year. I don’t know if this is the case for most of you.

I’ll crack if Sound of Metal gets in over One Night in Miami, Lmao. Even when Amazon gets right they get wrong, considering ONIM was their priority but people liked Sound of Metal way more.

The problem is if it’s in, it’s still #10 (#9 at best.) I can hardly see it being stronger than any solid contender atm. The visibility problem is huge for The Father. Oscars is not made up of 90 members like GG.
