Not that we didn’t know already, but I guess this is the confirmation of Kaluuya and Stanfield’s placements besides the GoldDerby report.

    (Kaluuya: supporting, Stanfield: lead)

Nominations haven’t even been announced and people are already declaring a winner in such a stacked category 🤦‍♂️

Glad that people bring up Langella again. He is a respected theater actor with a previous lead nomination. He seems like a more obvious name check in this category for nomination among other Chicago boys.

He was really good in Chicago 7 (might be in my top 3 TotC7 performances with Rylance & Abdul-Mateen II) but when I see him I can only think of his weird half-missing face in The Box.

    Remember The Box?

And speaking of TotC7 actors I know from other stuff, I really only know J.C. MacKenzie from Murder One where he’s Arnold Spivak, a bumbling, maudlin, and unlucky-in-love defense attorney. So seeing him as this quiet, stern prosecutor was kinda weird.

I saw The Mauritanian and don’t understand why Tahar Rahim isn’t getting a push? Not sure how far Foster is going go when all she does studiously read files. Seems like a miscalculation there.

    He’s being campaigned in Lead.

I’m afraid Boseman is going to happen in supporting and that would make me really mad. It would be such an insult to him honestly

I just watched Sound of Metal and Paul Raci should win this.

It would be just like the Academy to give Boseman an extra nomination that should have gone to a more deserving contender (cough Paul Raci). I hope it doesn’t happen, but I won’t be surprised if it does.

RIP his oscar chances then. RIP to that entire endeavor.
