    He’s being campaigned in Lead.

RIP his oscar chances then. RIP to that entire endeavor.

So a bunch of new entries have been added to the predictions centre for supporting actor, but still no Glynn Turman?! Especially when none of the newly added contenders are likely happening? (Unless he is there and I somehow overlooked him, in which case I apologise, but I just checked twice over.)

    Seconded

    Where’s the LAFCA winner ?

They’re gonna take forever to add him if at all (remember Yeun in 2018)…

Not y’all drawing conclusions based on critics awards… Chances are that Chadwick is indeed going to happen for D5B, but not because of the Chicago Indie Film Critcs. The televised awards will be the real litmus test.

Boseman is the soul of ‘Da 5 Bloods’ and honestly you can understand the commotion in him in this film, all his scenes are ghostly and the arc revolves all around him, he does what has to be done and very well.

I mean, all of this is true and I don’t think it’s a bad performance. But he’s basically a cameo in the film and so many other performances in that film were better.

If Da Five Bloods happens in Best Supporting Actor it should be for Clarke Peters or Jonathan Majors, not Chadwick Boseman.

I’ve reconsidered my Boseman take here a little bit the more I think about his performance, it does have a haunting quality to it that I think still resonates with me and will with voters. He has big scenes that resonate more after his death – one of which went viral afterwards and is extremely potent – and I could definitely see that bringing in a lot of votes. I still wouldn’t predict him yet, but I also do think it’s not at all unlikely GG, CC and SAG nom him in spite of strong competition.

Something like Kaluuya, Odom Jr., Cohen, Raci and Boseman seems like a fairly safe prediction. I’m increasingly sceptical Chicago 7 can successfully get two nominated here when it has so supporting actors many in contention.

If Da Five Bloods happens in Best Supporting Actor it should be for Clarke Peters or Jonathan Majors, not Chadwick Boseman.

I agree with this too though – I thought Peters was fantastic in D5B.

With Trevante and Tucci (who wasn’t really happening anyway) now in lead, is this category just gonna be Chicago, Miami and Kaluuya?

    Don’t give up on Raci.

Also, I currently think Globes will put Murray in supporting where he’ll be nominated, but he’ll be absent everywhere else.
