SBC could win the Globe and very well lose SAG & Oscar to Kaluuya.

Possible, but I doubt that’ll happen. The Mahershala Ali example was an anomaly rather than the rule.

I can’t see Strathairn sneaking in.

He made it in at the AACTA Awards. He’s the perfect Best Picture coattail (previous nominee, no internal competition), and the last two slots in this category are pretty open.

If SBC wins the Golden Globe for Chicago 7, we have our official frontrunner.

    *SAG

So you are going off 1 precursor? He needs to make the BAFTA final to even have a chance.

    *SAG

SAG will likely follow along with whoever wins the Globe. They’re unlikely to split with the Globes.

1990s and 2000s. Every Golden Globe winner since 2007 has won the Oscar with the exception of Mahershala Ali and Mark Rylance.

Sasha Baron Cohen is getting Oscar buzz for the worse performance of his this year compared to his Borat work.

SAG splited with the Globes before. There’ll be no clear answer until SAG.

Approximately 2 times in the past 11 years. Also, Critics’ Choice happens between Golden Globe and SAG.

Haha, his work in Borat makes his Chicago 7 work legendary lol.

No I’m not, but you said he had no chance, so I’m pointing out that he’s already made 1/2 industry precursors. I’m also predicting him to be a surprise nominee, regardless of if he makes BAFTA or not. Raci is unknown, Murray is in a film no one cares about, and Jared Leto is… well, let’s just hope that SAG was the last we see of him.

Am I the only who really liked SBC in Trial of the Chicago 7? I loved him in Borat too so if he walked away from this year with an Oscar, I wouldn’t mind. My personal pick is Odom Jr. so I already know my fave isn’t winning either way lol
