    evolve? leads going into supporting isn’t new. 1940 William Gargan (They Knew What They Wanted) – 42:49 / 47.72% Walter Brennan (The Westerner) – 51:17 / 51.36% James Stephenson (The Letter) – 53:55 / 56.72% 1952 Jack Palance (Sudden Fear) – 55:47 / 50.27% Arthur Hunnicutt (The Big Sky) – 1:03:02 / 51.81% Richard Burton (My Cousin Rachel) – 1:23:57 / 85.33%

ok supporting in 86 percent of the movie is ridiculous

I am wondering if LaKeith Stanfield will siphon off some votes from Daniel Kaluuya allowing for an upset??? I would vote for Sasha Baron Cohen and I can see a scenario where he wins, esp. if he wins at SAG. I don’t see Odom, Jr. or Raci winning but I am hoping for a Baron Cohen win – he’s had an incredible year and would be a really deserving winner!!!

I really don’t foresee Lakeith Stanfield siphoning votes away from Kaluuya.

I think SBC is so obviously the weakest in this category that if he won for that performance it would be an absolute joke.

However, the sad truth is that he probably would be the one to benefit from a split as opposed to Paul Raci who would be the the best alternative.

    But no, Kaluuya has this.

Why do people keep bringing up the possibility of a vote split? Daniel is clearly the favorite of the two just like Sam Rockwell was for Three Billboards.

SBC’s win is such a nothing performance. It would be worse than the overdue winning performances and worse than Gwyneth Paltrow’s.

SBC winning for Trial would be the epitome of catastrophe. Literally can’t think of a worse winner than Sacha winning for that.

SBC would quite possibly be my least favorite acting win of the last 20 years if he somehow pulled it off…and that would be quite a feat considering some of the people whose wins I really didn’t care for.

Thank god Kaluuya came through cause whew without Daniel at AATCA, SBC was able to win. I imagine if Judas was postponed SBC would be sweeping the precursors and Trial would be in a better position for Best Picture. So scary.

If anyone upsets it’s Raci (the veteran) or Stanfield (one of the industry’s perennial talents). However, Kaluuya is sweeping. His performance is the most dynamic of the 5 nominees.

Yea one performance is clearly better than the other, but even if they did  cancel each other theres still two clearly better performances in that category.  No idea why they even pinpointed on Cohen other than they were surprised he could act.

The only person who can beat Kaluuya is Stanfield. He won’t, but he’s clearly got immense levels of support.

I heard that Oscar has Kaluuya’s name engraved on it and it’s ready to be shipped so it can land on his hands on April 25th.
