I’m switiching for now. I have Boseman winning lead and Kaluuya winning supporting.

If they put Kaluuya supporting then I’ll predict a win. But given how prominent he is in the film’s advertising, I wonder if they’d really try to put him there. We saw something similar with Hanks last year, but he was legitimately supporting so it was justified.

There’s too many better performances than Boseman in Da 5 Bloods for him to get a nom for that. I mean, he was fine, but that’s nowhere close to an Oscar-nominated performance, even under this year’s circumstances.

I imagine Netflix thinks Rylance or Dance can win. We don’t know a whole lot about Dance’s performance just yet… and the dude’s a great actor. Could be a stellar role.

It just goes to show us that we should never take anything for granite.

I feel bad for Frank Langella here. Not only do I think he won’t be able to squeeze a nomination in here despite out-acting nearly everyone in Chicago 7, he’s probably going to watch Hopkins win an Oscar for a role he won a Tony for. Dude’s one of the best actors of his generation and I’m not sure how many more chances he’ll get to win.

It’s possible Chadwick is still nominated in this category. His performance was NOT the stand out in Da 5 Bloods. But that emotional scene with Delroy Lindo was impactful and extremely effective.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a double nominee.

    Current Predictions:
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, The Trial of the Chicago 7
    Charles Dance, Mank
Frank Langella, The Trial of the Chicago 7
Leslie Odom Jr, One Night in Miami
Mark Rylance, The Trial of the Chicago 7

Alt: Tom Burke – Mank, Eli Goree – One Night in Miami, David Strathairn – Nomadland, OR Chadwick Boseman – Da 5 Bloods

🙈 Some of y’all might drag me for predicting 3 actors from TTOTC7 but this category is so open I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens.

    Don’t underestimate Bill Murray here.

Trial of the Chicago 7 vote split.

Overdue-Narrative and working with Coppola again.

    Apple TV+ main push.

    Could win Globe.

Have a great day if you see this!

    FYC: Anthony Hopkins- The Father
FYC: Chadwick Boseman - Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

I don’t think any of the Chicago 7 boys are deserving of a nomination

    FYC:

Best Actress: Viola Davis (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom)
Best Actor: Anthony Hopkins (The Father)
Best Supporting Actress: Ellen Burstyn (Pieces of a Woman)
Best Supporting Actor: Leslie Odom Jr. (One Night in Miami)

I was hesitant about Lakeith Stansfield because of other names in the race. But with Chadwick out and in Best Actor, Lakeith should be good .

I don’t think there’s any way Netflix is gonna campaign SBC in lead now, and I think he could be the 2nd nomination for Chicago 7 with Rylance.

Still adjusting my predictions after the my personal “Boseman category placement drama”, but I think it goes like this:
    NYFCC – Odom Jr.
    LAFCA – Odom Jr.
    NSFC – Dance
    NBR – Murray
Critics’ Choice – Abdul-Mateen II, Baron Cohen, Ben-Adir, Dance, Odom Jr., Rylance, Stanfield
SAG – Abdul-Mateen II, Baron Cohen, Dance, Odom Jr., Murray
BAFTA – Baron Cohen, Dance, Odom Jr., Murray, Rylance, E. Grant
Golden Globe – Abdul-Mateen II, Baron Cohen, Dance, Odom Jr., Rylance
Oscars – Baron Cohen, Dance, Odom Jr., Rylance, Stanfield
