I’m very confident that Colman is done for the win. She won zero awards so far and I think she’ll come to the Oscar night without any precursors. There’s just no passion to give her a second win.

    Maria Bakalova probably will too.

The Globes loss does NOT help her

Youn is winning Critics’ Choice. There is absolutely no reason for them not to give it to her. If Bakalova had one the Globe, I could maybe see it. Same with Glenn. Youn is winning that and if she gets SAG, the Oscar is hers.

Yup if Colman loses at Critics Choice she’s done. Second Oscar without a Globe or Critics Choice win is pretty much unprecedented .

Oh I agree and I’m not predicting her.

But I think she’ll get more first preference votes than Seyfried will.

If Bakalova somehow wins Critics Choice I think I’d just roll the dice for who’s winning Best Supporting Actress and if it lands on Swankie then so be it.

    Good one.

But I’m talking about Minari potentially being a threat to both Nomadland and Trial. If it wins SAG Ensemble…

I’ve always found it weird that people were predicting Colman to win and not Hopkins. Just didn’t seem right to me

    THIS!

People really underestimate the crowd pleasing aspects of this film. It might be the closest we have to a populist one this year lol.

A performance in a comedy sequel whose predecessor couldn’t even get the actor playing the title character nominated getting more votes than a performance in the most nominated film of the ceremony? Press X to doubt

Hopkins has a much flashier and tragic role than Colman. And I never in the award race thought Colman would win on the basis that a second short amount of time between wins against Close would be too humiliating for Close.

Don’t be surprised if Bakalova and Youn tie at the CC.

I might’ve bought into this if Bakalova won Globe. But look at what movie has more support and look whose performance is more beloved. It’s Youn

No ties, please! Youn and only Youn for the win.
