I think it’s possible Seyfried could be the Rockwell in Vice of this year. Playing a baity role that is nominated at the Globes but is ignored at SAG and coattails off of his performance thanks to the role he plays in relation to the lead actor. But to be fair Bale had goodwill from his Oscar and playing George Bush is a much baiter role than playing a Old Hollywood actress. He was also nominated at BAFTA…not looking good for Seyfried regardless I’m still keeping her in.

Bale won CC. Oldman hasnt won anything.

I made a typo lol I was talking about Rockwell. And I’m talking about supporting actor.

Rockwell’s nomination for Vice could also partially be attributed to the infamous “after-glow” effect… which is actually something Gary Oldman has in his favor.

If Seyfried misses, wouldn’t it be funny if Mank ended up with the exact same 9 nominations that Citizen Kane got? (Picture, Director, Lead Actor, Original Screenplay, Cinematography, Film Editing, Production Design,  Original Score, and Sound)

My final prediction (I regret nothing):

    • Olivia Colman
    • Jodie Foster

I  have the same. Surprised so many people are still predicting Close.

Oh, if this happens, the trivia nerd in me would be so happy. I don’t think Seyfried’s out, though.

Well, I’ve finally taken Close out. Put Foster in.

    God help me.

Surprised so many people are still predicting Close.

Something to remember is that Oscar voters usually fill out their ballots early. So if Close makes it it’ll be based on the majority early votes.

You make a good point… I guess I’ll wait and see if these last minute changes will pay off or not.
