If Youn is snubbed I don’t think we will ever see an Asian woman be nominated at the Oscars for acting ever again.

I’m still not over Shuzhen Zhao’s Oscar snub. I hope history doesn’t repeat itself with Youn.

The way Zhao outacted everyone in that weak category last year. I never predicted her though but I did predict Awkwafina. She came so close with her Globe win and a potential The Farewell Original Screenplay nomination. But then the film was completely shut out. One of the worst nomination mornings.

The Farewell definitely deserved better at Oscars. So did their actors. I was shocked when it received zero nomination.

Parasite was the only good thing about last year’s Oscar. The acting lineup and winners were simply awful. Hope the history doesn’t repeat itself.

Oscars confirmed prejudice to Asian actors if that happens. Especially if Ahmed or Yeun are snubbed too.

Oh, South-Asian actors with English nationality like Ben Kingsley, Dev Patel, and Riz Ahmed are fine to them. Even Japanese actors like Ken Watanabe and Rinko Kikuchi are acceptable from time to time. They just don’t like to nominate anyone from China or South Korea apparently.

I’m hoping that changes this year, but I’m not holding my breath.

    This seems pretty dramatic.

And The Farewell was one of the most overrated movies of all time and didn’t deserve anything… y’all like old actresses old actressing way too much.

There are a lot of silly and overdramatic things posted on this forum but this one might be at the top.
