Jodie Foster is entering the supporting actress race. Wooowsa!

    https://variety.com/2020/film/awards/the-mauritanian-oscars-jodie-foster-tahar-rahim-oscars-release-1234838153/

The race is starting to get really interesting!

It’s been thirty fucking years since she won her last, she needs to win again.

The prospect of Anthony and Jodie winning their Oscars in the same year, again – I can’t.

    Leading Actress: Frances McDormand

The prospect of Anthony and Jodie winning their Oscars in the same year, again – I can’t.

The irony that even though they did one of the most iconic films in history together they didn’t even talk to each other or make friends with each other on the set of the film.

She’s in a very good position. This could be her goodbye Oscar.

FYC OSCARS : PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN IN ALL CATEGORIES (ESP. ACTRESS – Carey Mulligan AND ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY — EMERALD FENNELL), VANESSA KIRBY FOR "PIECES OF A WOMAN", ESSIE DAVIS FOR "BABYTEETH"

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!! Give this to Jodie Legendary Foster NOW!!!

Two-time Oscar winner Jodie Foster (1989’s “The Accused” and 1991’s “The Silence of the Lambs”) is simply electric as Hollander in a transformative performance, one that could put the film in the mix for best makeup and hairstyling. It’s been 25 years since she was nominated for “Nell,” and with a confirmed supporting actress campaign ahead, the veteran could mount an awards comeback. She’s flirted with Oscar’s attention in that time, nabbing Golden Globe nominations for “Contact,” “The Brave One” and “Carnage.” In 2013, she was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Coincidentally, her Oscar-winning co-star Anthony Hopkins (“The Father”) is also well positioned for awards love, which could give us a Hannibal Lecter/Clarice Starling reunion at the ceremony.

I don’t see a win happening but The Mauritanian is giving me serious Richard Jewell vibes, meaning Foster could represent the film in Supporting Actress.

I’m so here for a Jodie Foster oscar comeback.

And I’m also here for her doppelgänger Emma Corrin to win TV Supporting Actress at the Globes in the same ceremony as Jodie winning Film Supporting Actress…

Listen, normally I would dismiss this film but this year seems like it’s going to be a “veterans’ season”, and in this empty category I think Foster could potentially happen. What worries me is the distributor.

Jodie Foster is at least gonna be this year’s Kathy Bates.

If the film is good enough and her performance is really that great, I can see her winning. She deserves a third Oscar and this category has no frontrunner.

Foster could also be similar to Annette Bening in The Report and turn up at the Globes but disappear beyond that

Besides GG, if Foster really delivers, she could also get in at BAFTA. MacDonald won with The Last King of Scotland and BBC is producing (besides Cumberbatch, of course)
