I flopped with my ADG predictions — badly.

Mank is giving me American Hustle 2.0 but at least it’ll win PD.

Good day for Team Predicting Andra Day with Promising Young Woman losing to Da 5 Bloods after making the equivalent BAFTA longlist over it!

I mean, at least Mank won’t go 0/10.

    FYC:

Best Screenplay: Never Rarely Sometimes Always (Eliza Hitman)
Best Actress: Sidney Flanigan ("Never Rarely Sometimes Always")

#15 at the ADG Awards. #16 at the DGA Awards.

    Nice.

And congrats to Luca for his 2nd place at the DGA Awards (I’m shocked someone actually correctly predicted all the 8 winners)

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

Yeah, I’ll take second place😂 Whoever predicted Truffle Hunters deserves an Oscar.

I came in 10th at DGA! I think that’s my highest ever lol.

Good day for Team Predicting Andra Day with Promising Young Woman losing to Da 5 Bloods after making the equivalent BAFTA longlist over it!

Good day for Team Predicting Viola Davis too with Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom winning 2 out of the 3 BAFTAs it has been nominated for so far!

FYC Emmys: "The Crown" in all categories, "I May Destroy You" in all categories, "It's a Sin" in all categories, "Small Axe" in all categories, Billie Piper ("I Hate Suzie"), Yvonne Strahovski ("Stateless") and Ruth Wilson ("His Dark Materials")

At least it’s better than American Hustle.

I’ll have to switch from Emma. to Ma Rainey for the Costumes Oscar unless CDG does something unexpected.

I think both films would be great winners but wow, predicting the latter to go 4/5, including 2 lead acting wins without a BP nom feels so weird. Is there anything even remotely comparable (especially in the preferential era)? How did it miss?

No, there’s nothing comparable with that in the prefential era.

The last non BP nominee to win 4 Oscars was The Matrix.

Alright, should I switch my contemporary PD prediction from Promising Young Woman to Birds of Prey or should I just stick with PYW? I don’t wanna get burned again because I’m picking my favorite movie this year but I think there is a good reason to give it a Costumes win

Oscar winners Emerald Fennell Daniel Kaluuya and Youn Yuh-jung
