Was The Personal History of David Copperfield eligible and/or submitted in costumes and production design? Ignored on BAFTA as well?

Haven’t seen Emma but is that one really better out of the two in these aspects?

With Ma Rainey missing picture, I think its very well possible “Trashbilly Flopelegy” walks away with 2 Oscars with MAKEUP coming alongside Close.

How do you all think this is not winning Make Up & Hairstyling? It’s probably Top 20-10 showiest nominee this category has ever had. And the surprise costumes nomination shows the movie does has support.

Star Trek: Beyond was showy too. But I do believe Pinocchio is only behind Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom in this category.

Hillbilly Elegy is also up for a BAFTA. I wouldn’t understimate the movie in the category. Yes, it’s a trash movie but if there’s one thing they don’t care about this category is acclaim.

Pinocchio is really deserving in Makeup. It would be the best winner since Pan’s Labyrinth. If it wins BAFTA, it’s winning the Oscar.

I’m feeling confident that Emma. will win Costumes, it seems like such a classic Oscar choice and Alexandra Byrne is a past winner.
