    Presenting Directing this early is a lack of respect to the nominees and the winner….the fact that is was so predictable doesn’t make it less important than the shorts.

    I agree. With the exception of last year’s winner the Best Director winners have been really predictable and they weren’t presented this early: Cuaron, Del Toro, Iñarritu, Chazelle…
