March 27, 2022 at 1:17 pm #1204879578And so it begins. Don’t think I’ve ever seen the broadcasters trying to sell a mattress before.

March 27, 2022 at 1:29 pm #1204879619Just a few hours to go. Yay! Whatever happens tonight, I’m hoping to see a little love for my favorite film of the year, Belfast. Cheers everyone, and have fun!

March 27, 2022 at 1:58 pm #1204879687^Pretty funny if you ask me (I was referring to the story about the Dog and Tail in Italian). If they are doing tributes to any movies from the past, I hope they give them actual tributes, and truly honor those films.
I remember when they supposedly honored “The Wizard of OZ” this past decade, and I think it was little more than a presenter giving a speech and Judy Garland’s children sitting in the audience. Or the time they tried to honor James Bond and they could not get any of the living Bonds to attend (although no disrespect towards Dame Shirley Bassey, who did a great job singing Goldfinger).
Those “tributes” were underwhelming to say the least and felt like real missed opportunities for the Oscars. I still remember when Lady Gaga paid tribute to “The Sound of Music” and we were all surprised when Julie Andrews appeared right after. That was a beautiful tribute to the film and a special moment you likely could only see on the Oscars. Moments like those celebrating film and the history of cinema are part of the reason why I still bother tuning into the Oscars.
Yup. Yup. Yup.
Either go the full hog like John Hughes in 2010 or don’t do it at all.

There are 3 movies with more chance. So no.

This is the most unpredictable BP contest ever – Belfast could do what Spotlight did and win only BP and a screenplay award… older people like Belfast more than younger ones and there are more older voters than younger ones… Belfast would be a very worthy BP winner.
