    Well, at least it’s all over.

    Next year we’ll all go in expecting something boring and predictable and they’re going to give us Everything Everywhere All At Once BP, just watch.

    Two stats are still standing

    1) Editing/Sound one

    2) No Lead Actress has won without  SAG or BAFTA under her belt

    And no, CODA won’t change anything, it’s just an exception.

    "EGOT" and "Triple Crown of Acting" winner: VIOLA DAVIS!!!!

    I did so good. I just missed Original Screenplay and Animated Short.

    I actually didn’t think it was that terrible. I unplugged and didn’t look at any of the pre-announced winners (they definitely need to get rid of that next year) so I found them out all on the broadcast. All the winners were quite predictable. Jessica, Troy and Ariana all had excellent speeches. Clips were brought back! The Will Smith debacle will boost conversation around the Oscars in a way that doesn’t surround the Oscars being bad like last years Chadwick debacle. I actually thought the hosting was good, I laughed at Amy Schumer jokes which is a new experience and they largely stayed out of the show.

    Performances were good aside of the WDTAB added verses and such, which was all unnecessary. Screenplay winners left a bitter taste in my mouth, but that’s alright. You could tell they were pretty shamelessly going all out to save ratings which was a bit hard to watch (a BTS cameo??) but not atrocious.

    Want Want by Maggie Rogers - Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Music Video, Best Country Song, Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Traditional R&B Performance, Best Country Solo Performance, Best Rap Solo Performance, Best Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best American Roots Performance

    As long as they give me Viola taking Best Actress, they could reward CODA 2 for all I care.

    Only missed 4 categories and ended up at place 3000 and something. I knew Chastain was winning but i went with this forum’s “Cruz is taking” argument. It was a solid argument tho.

    FYC:
    The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
    The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);
    Poker Face, The Great, The Bear, Evil (especially Katja Herbers) and The Good Fight.

    Please! These gays, they're trying to murder me!

    I wrote a whole para and the last thread got closed lol

    Anyways, it’s sad the whole ceremony got overshadowed by Will’s shenanigans because it was actually good. Really better than last year. A few misses when it came to performances but the script was tight. Jokes were delivered well and all three hosts were really good. The show proved that a ceremony can’t remain afloat only by wins and speeches – and it needs to have an entertainment quotient. Much better than last year and it ended on a sweet note with Gaga and Liza. Producers must be dancing their wine off courtesy Will. Hope they get their TRPs

    CODA is gonna be forgotten even faster than Green Book was since Will Smith just gave the biggest Oscar moment since Moonlight/La La Land mixup💀

    Everything Everywhere All At Once for BP

    SOS for AOTY

    Succession for Best Series
