NEON won again after ParasiteFebruary 8, 2022 at 6:15 am #1204786756
Best Actress I’m so torn on, because I feel so bad for Gaga but Penelope is so deserving and I didn’t expect it.

The only good prediction I made was Nightmare Alley in best picture lmaoFebruary 8, 2022 at 6:19 am #1204786833
The following nominations happened without any major precursors:

-The Worst Person in the World in Original Screenplay
-Attica in Documentary Feature
-Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom in International Film

-Spider-Man: No Way Home in Visual Effects
-Both Encanto and Parallel Mothers in Score
-Both “Down to Joy” and “Somehow You Do” in Song
-Literally every Animated Short nominee except Bestia
-Literally every Documentary Short nominee (because no major precursors exist for this category)
-Literally every Live-Action Short nominee (because no major precursors exist for this category)February 8, 2022 at 6:22 am #1204786884
really wanted leto to become nominated for both a raspberry and an oscar but yall went another way with simmons. kFebruary 8, 2022 at 6:24 am #1204786913
That Screenplay nom for TWPITW made dream so much about Renate getting in (she was one of my NGNG picks) but considering how Neon f*cked up that movie, getting writing is already an achievement. This really could’ve been nominated for Actress and Best Picture, had Neon done their job.
So happy for Kirsten Dunst, Penélope Cruz, Kristen Stewart and Lost Daughter and The Power of the Dog performance. The latter is winning BP now right?
Gaga tanking after being the only one to hit every precursor made me cackle ngl.February 8, 2022 at 6:25 am #1204786924
Who the HELL did Lady Gaga piss off?!?!February 8, 2022 at 6:25 am #1204786937
Supporting actress… of course they had to go and ruin a near perfect category. Love Jessie Buckley but I wish they hadn’t snubbed Balfe and Negga 🙁 at least Dunst finally got her first nom.
Also, Denis Villeneuve deserved better.February 8, 2022 at 6:27 am #1204786955
I’m sorry Kenneth Branagh’s direction on Belfast is absolutely… nothing special. He did not deserve to get nominated (in my opinion), and there are several I’d take in that category who didn’t get nommed over him.February 8, 2022 at 6:31 am #1204787014
The only nomination I hated was Bardem. There was about 5 great choices they could’ve made instead. But I should’ve known the old white members would vote for his performance
I’m happy Nightmare Alley got into picture! I was happy Will, Cumberbatch, and especially Denzel got in, I was worried he’d be snubbed. I was happy Hinds, JK Simmons and Plemmons got in as well. And glad Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst got nominated.February 8, 2022 at 6:32 am #1204787034
Some of these acting noms I do not understand. Bardem and Simmons, really? Also Dench and Hinds do nothing in Belfast imo.
Shocked Gaga missed. Also thought Haim may get in but it’s a super stacked category this year.
Glad No time to Die picked up some nominations. Happy for Plemmons
Anyway what a crazy season!February 8, 2022 at 6:34 am #1204787064
Is The Power of the Dog and Being The Ricardos the only films to land 3 Acting noms? Not now
