Chadwick lost because Hopkins was undeniable. That’s not the case this year and with that BAFTA win, there’s nothing to worry about.

Did anyone watch AG’s interview on Kimmel?

Most notably, at 9:45, they talk about the Oscars. Andrew more or less admits he knows he’s not going to win, hints at Will Smith probably being the victor, and mentions Gold Derby (but not by name – just as a “betting website”).

Undeniable in a nominated movie. Actor needs Picture to win. Boseman was offically toast when that trash he was in missed Picture (rightfully so what a turd!). But stans didn’t want to see the writing on the wall as always.

Smith checked the Picture box. He’s winning.

Chadwick also lost due to Ma Rainey missing BP, Director and Editing nomination.

If Hopkins was undeniable he would’ve won sag and the globe.

Best Actor has been an underwhelming race from the start but Will Smith winning…fine. It’s delusional to pretend he’s not, like people still trying to insist Phoenix wouldn’t win in 2019.

If it weren’t for the toxic Gaga and Stewart fans, Best Actress would look like this too. Or close to it.

It probably wouldn’t because BA is a minefield every season lmao. I love to read but it’s such a mess every season.

This is revisionism. The Father didn’t come out until way late in the piece.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

You should be more upset Will Smith is nominated and will win, for a nothing performance. It’s all about timing and it’s his time. Just like Bullock. Hollywood wants to say thank you for padding their wallets for the past 30 years. If anyone can say his performance is superior to Washington and Cumberbatch and Garfield, you are deluded. But then Oscar is never about true performance.

Bardem making it over anyone this season was an absolute tragedy.
