    1. Will Smith, King Richard
    2. Denzel Washington, The Tragedy of Macbeth
    3. Peter Dinklage, Cyrano
    4. Benedict Cumberbatch, The Power of the Dog
    5. Clifton Collins Jr., Jockey

    6. Joaquin Phoenix, C’mon C’mon
    7. Leonardo DiCaprio, Don’t Look Up
    8. Simon Rex, Red Rocket
    9. Javier Bardem, Being the Ricardos
    10. Jude Hill, Belfast

Bradley Cooper would be No. 11 – I’m betting on overwhelming Academy affection for Belfast to throw some votes Hill’s way, and am less certain of how much Nightmare Alley will be embraced by Ampas voters, even with Searchlight’s awards machine running on all cylinders.

    FYC

    Supporting Actor: Moises Arias
Original Screenplay: Clint Bentley, Greg Kwedar

You are correct. My family has absolutely no interest in King Richard and neither do I, outside of Will Smith. We won’t be seeing it in theaters. I will be watching it on HBO along with many many other Asian, Black, Spanish, etc other people.

Of course they don’t, Get Out.

I’m not predicting Cooper, but he’s definitely top 8, being the lead in a guaranteed Picture nominee. Definitely ahead of Clifton, Simon, and Jude, and probably Joaquin and Javier too.

    I rewatched The Father.

This scene shattered my heart. A true legend.

Nothing “ridiculous” about predicting different lineups at this point in the season.

What’s ridiculous is some saying this is the obvious lineup in freaking October.

Which is not what I said.

    3. Bradley Cooper (Nightmare Alley)

    4. Denzel Washington (The Tragedy of Macbeth)

    5. Leonardo DiCaprio (Don’t Look Up)

For me DiCaprio and Denzel are getting in just because, fillers. I can see a three way race between Bradley, Benedict and Smith – IF Nightmare Alley ends up being the front-runner and Cooper surprises. If not it’s clearly a two horse race.

I know this is the wrong thread but since the Television Academy is huge,I thought of extending the SAG TV Voting Polls to this thread too. This one is for Limited/Anthology Actress (choose one). I’ll make one for “Best Actor Motion Picture SAG” also shortly and post here.

My thoughts about the case against Cooper, DiCaprio and Dinklage:

Cooper may be more of a stoic character where the others are more colorful and steals the show like Mark Walhberg in The Fighter. Mara, Collette and Blanchett will most likely be the talk of the movie

DiCaprio doing comedy will most likely earn him a Golden Globe nod at best. Though he has been great in Wolf and Catch Me, DLU has too many famous actors who are gonna still the show

A television star trying to get an Oscar nom. I think he will lose this battle against Garfield

    01. Will Smith
    02. Denzel Washington
    03. Benedict Cumberbatch

Denzel is also uncertain given the facts that very few actors in a Shakespear movie gets a nomination.

    04. Clifton Collins Jr
    05. Nicolas Cage
    06. Amir Jadidi
    07. Simon Rex
    08. Andrew Garfield

For those people who think Will Smith is the front runner for best actor, are you kidding? In the trailer his performance looks absolutely amateur. I have never regarded Smith as a good actor, I don’t believe he has become one now. Just a whole lotta hype for what looks like a TV movie at best. Just my opinion.

Cumerbatch would probably be having an easier path if his character had more screen time in The Power of the Dog. In any case, don’t underestimate Cumerbatch and the British bloc that will rally behind him.

    Michelle Williams Oscar campaign manager.
