GarfieldLove Bardem but he seems…so miscast. Nightmare Alley is worrying me and I never saw it as much of an acting play anyway. Driver’s going nowhere.

I’ll be shocked if Leo misses. But I agree about Driver. He seems miscast in HoG and his accent’s bad.

Yeah, I never want to underestimate Leo because usually if he breathes he’s nominated. But I nevertheless have reservations about a performance this high satire landing a nomination…he seems like he’s doing his usual thing, which I find over-rewarded anyway, but in a film I’m still not convinced is going to land. Maybe it’s a little more hopeful on my part than anything but I feel good about predicting him missing for the moment.

November 1, 2021 at 8:44 am #1204551147House of Overacting very likely to earns only 3 noms (Actress, Costumes and Makeup) and maybe Loud Prosthetics for Supporting Actor. Driver seems very long shots for me darling.
November 1, 2021 at 9:08 am #1204551242I don’t get the Dinklage predictions. No one seems to care about Cyrano and the movie looks really boring and uninteresting.
There will be no first time nominee this year. Unless the movie completely flop, I don’t see DiCaprio missing. His performance will be extremely showy, as the bathroom scene already made it obvious.
Bradley Cooper could miss, but the movie revolves around his character so maybe he is safe if Nightmare Alley is a big player.

DiCaprio is easily getting in. Dinklage and Washington aren’t as locked as some think… Bradley Cooper, Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Mahershala Ali and Javier Bardem could get in, if their films end up with sufficient passion behind them.

November 1, 2021 at 11:32 am #1204551488Here’s a statemnt i thought id never say: Jamie Dornan looks like he has a great shot for Best actor nomination. He is the one that looks like he is owning “Belfast” and might be his WOW performance

I learned after “Flight” never to bet against Denzel with Oscar buzz.

His usual thing?? Loool, what???
He’s literally playing a slightly overweight, insecure nerdy scientist, it’s unlike anything he’s ever played or done, what are you talking about??November 1, 2021 at 11:43 am #1204551538Here’s a statemnt i thought id never say: Jamie Dornan looks like he has a great shot for Best actor nomination.
