Why did you ignore Little Wallis? She gave such a wonderful performance and her film overperformed with nominations. IMO Wallis and Chastain were the best. Naomi Watts wasn’t even the star of her own movie and she spent almost all her screen time lying on her sick bed

Naomi Watts gave one of the most underrated turns in recent film history. Not only the physical pain, the despair, the possible loss of her children & husband was visible on her face, but the struggle for her son’s survival, the helpfulness to others, and most importantly, the hope that her family may be reunited even in earthly life. This kind of fighting spirit on Watts’ face was more than what you described in your comment. When you get to show a character’s feelings and thoughts without saying anything, you bring her to life. And Watts breathed life into that performance without any wigs, makeup or actressing scenes.

    FYC 2022 Emmys:

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Sandra Oh in "Killing Eve"

Best Actress in a Comedy Series: Sandra Oh in "The Chair"

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Kim Joo-ryoung in "Squid Game"

Even the little girl from Beasts of the Southern Wild was more deserving. J-Law was quite easily the worst one in that lineup.

Huh come on. That little girl wasn’t « acting »

Watts did more lying in bed and clinging to that tree than some of the lineup in their entire careers….

Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)

Chastain winning an Oscar for a September film with mediocre reviews, a film that also will not be a big hit at the box office sounds beyond far fetched. Bohemian Rhapsody made 900 million dollars and Judy was a success as well.
