I feel like in this new trailer the acting doesn’t feel as compelling anymore. In some parts the accent feels a little bit off. But then the first trailer showed us the best parts of her acting, which is the facial expressions which she nailed, and the “they don’t” part which perfectly sounds like Diana’s accent. So maybe the first trailer kinda set the standards too high.
Y’all are doing way too much with this like Barry Jenkins himself didn’t make an entire Twitter thread praising Spencer after he saw it at Telluride
But that’s kind of my point though, Barry Jenkins is very active on Twitter and that’s how we know he likes the film. A large portion of members is not on Twitter and they decide what happens most of the time.
And I feel like I should make this disclaimer because some people like to misinterpret objectiveness: I’m personally rooting for Kristen to win. Been obsessed with her since Twilight. Even made my prom dress based on a dress she wore on a red carpet lol. And the trailer looks absolutely icredible and she looks and sounds amazing just like I knew she would

The accent is perfectly good. I don’t really understand the criticism. It’s a perfectly captured accent that may or may not sound exactly Diana, but it’s still pretty good.

Yes it’s good enough for an american actress. I was just saying that the first trailer kinda set the bar high. Maybe there’s better parts in the actual movie where she sounds more like Princess Diana.
The accent work is very good. No one will ever sound exactly like Diana anyway.
That last line “Will they kill me, d’you think?” whoa…they really went for blood.

The wigs are actually really good high quality wigs lol there just shapped funny and don’t exactly look like Diana’s hair.

Sally Hawkins’ character also says “fight them” twice instead of saying “fight them, you’re your own weapon” in the UK trailer.

I’m sorry but in that trailer Kristen reaffirmed that she is super robotic and rehearsed with her overdone accent.
If anything the trailer showed us that it’s all hype with little substance. The fact that they still barely showed her talking…very very bad signs.
just say you hate her and go lmao, how would she be an awards frontrunner and have gotten raves if she was bad?
