Who hates jessica chastain? Shes one of the most progressive actresses out there and other than that xmen movie, she tends to avoid bullshit movies

I would ask why, but she also hated the suicide squad, she’s not known for her great taste

You guys only seem to mention the flopping with Chastain, yet you’d deny her raves, the nature and baityness of her role, and the reception of her movie among the general audience (currently 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, B+ on Cinemascore, 3.44 on Letterboxd which is a better score than The Lost Daughter‘s or Parallel Mother‘s). Box office floppage is absolutely irrelevant if the audience likes the movie and the critics are raving about Chastain. The industry will not care about box office, they will watch the film and support Chastain’s transformative turn. Let’s face it. Some of you just want Chastain to fail because you are tired of average biography films competing for Oscars.

I’m tired of them myself. It’s biopic fatigue and a lot of us have it. But yes, I agree some people on here don’t even care about her movie, just her failing in general.

I don’t know guys. I don’t have actual names in my head. But the way people use to only mention the negative in her Oscar chances makes me think that deep down people just want her to fail for this particular performance (not overall). I think the lack of love for the film by the critics is an issue, but the movie seem to be really liked by the general audience which is good. I mean maybe it won’t be seen by many people, but the point is to be seen by the right people. I don’t see her winning, but the nomination seems like a strong bet. Other than Stewart, I feel like all Cruz, Colman, Chastain etc. lost a bit of buzz lately. And there are a lot women to come. It’s going to be a bloodbath for sure.

    Okay! I’m definitely excited.
Halle is bringing something completely different. I tend to jinx her so, I’ll just remain quiet.🤣

Halle deserves an Oscar return. Between the oversexualided roles, Catwoman and the lack of calls, the industry has been really unfair with her. I hope this is her golden ticket.

Totally agree the academy just awarded her an Oscar just to  abandoned her 😭
