I meant Nicole is Amazon’s biggest contender for Lead Actress category, not that the film will only happen there. idk where did you get Still Alice and Judy comparisons

It was unclear to me that you were restricting your comment to the Best Actress race; the Judy and Still Alice comparisons were relevant only if you were considering Kidman for BA as the sole serious nominee from Being the Ricardos.

The Campaigning stared last night with The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures opening gala.

The Netflix Girls Berry,Thompson, Hall and Gyllenhaal
    Amazon Kidman
    MGM Lady Gaga Jennifer Hudson
    Neon Stewart

Lady Gaga closed the night with an hour-long set of big band jazz standards, including classics by Cole Porter and Edith Piaf, and—last but not least—a rendition of “New York, New York” dedicated to Spike Lee, which inspired Cher to stand, Tiffany Haddish to twerk, and Regina King to scream, “We love you, Gaga!”

    She’s coming I’m afraid

    (per VF)

    Oscars FYC:

    "CODA" – in all categories

"Everybody's Talking About Jamie" – Sup. Actor (Richard E. Grant), Sup. Actress (Sarah Lancashire) and Original Song (“This Was Me”)

"King Richard" – Original Song (“Be Alive”)

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

Great move by Gaga! People really went wild over her performance. I think she is really going to keep her name in contention because of this performance and because of the relationship she has with the academy. I feel like her performance in HoG can pull her through (for a nomination) because the academy seems to really love her. I think this was a good move for Jennifer too. I think her name kind of dropped off, but last night could have proved to be important for her.

Campaigning still does win you Oscars only Reason Frances won with no campaigning is because it was no front runner in best actress last year she’s a veteran actress and was in a best picture winner.

So you guys really think Frances wasn’t campaigned. Nomadland had the best promotion of the year.

    One word. Netflix.

Not a single Netflix Oscar nominee has ever won in this category. Actually, the only Netflix actor who did was Laura Dern in Marriage Story, an absolutely accessible, well-liked film.

    FYC 2022 Emmys:

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Sandra Oh in "Killing Eve"

Best Actress in a Comedy Series: Sandra Oh in "The Chair"

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Kim Joo-ryoung in "Squid Game"

    She didn’t campaign herself. C’mon, she didn’t.

I mean no one has ever denied that people adore her as a performer. She’s a great singer, song-writer, performer. But there is a difference between liking her as a singer, and handling her a Lead Actress trophy for acting. There is a reason why her Lead Actress campaign never took off – even with a surprising alternative, they just went with Colman instead and rewarded Gaga for her song.

    FYC 2022 Emmys:

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Sandra Oh in "Killing Eve"

I thought everyone knew that Colman won because there was an obvious split between Gaga and Glenn Close. If the Academy likes her, which they do, they won’t have a problem at least nominating her (if her performance is at least decent), which is what a lot of Gaga fans want. People just want her to be recognized as a serious actress. That could be the difference in some of the noms for the bottom three slots. (In my opinion).
