so andra day is known but only by black people? just admitted she’s not that well known then lol

Apparently she isn’t now. Andra is an Oscar nominee after all 😉 & performed her Grammy nominated signature hit “Rise Up” at the Biden inauguration.

I shouldn’t have expected any less from the Best Actress thread, considering the chaos last year, but the Oscars are about 8-ish months away and the drama is already tired and asinine.

It’s understandable to have reservations when predicting, but can we at least wait for more trailers and reviews to come out? Reminder, predicting should be fun for everyone.

The Blonde discussion happened a few pages ago. Yes, it’s confirmed for 2022.

I’m not a big Kristen Stewart fan, but you cannot deny that playing Princess Diana is total Oscar bait. And Princess Diana is extremely well-known, certainly more so than Jackie Kennedy. Part of the reason Portman didn’t win imo is because not everyone internationally knew Jackie Kennedy. and there’s still the BAFTA advantage that Olivia Colman, Meryl Streep, and Marion Cotillard had. That’s something you have to consider

    FYC
Dune in All Categories (esp. Director, Score, Sound, and Visual Effects)
Spencer in All Categories (esp. Actress, Cinematography, and Costume Design)
The Worst Person in the World in All Categories (esp. Original Screenplay and International Feature)
Flee in All Categories (esp. Animated Feature, Documentary Feature, and International Feature)
The Power of the Dog in All Categories (esp. Actor and Adapted Screenplay)

    Gucci trailer is out!

It looks like fun! It’s not going to be critically acclaimed, but I think it’s clear that that’s not what they going for.

I don’t see her winning for this, but Gaga looks fantastic and the accent is not bad! Excited for this.

Umm how about La La Land was a BP contender & Emma Stone was the quintessential “it” girl/Hollywood darling voters typically go for? Spencer/Stewart will NOT be in either position. Try again.

Well, I guess it turns out that rumor back during filming that Gaga wasn’t going to use an accent is false and, honestly, all the better for it.

I don’t see it getting any key above the line wins (I may be wrong) but regardless of whether it’s an Oscar player or not, I’m looking more forward to House of Gucci after that trailer. I need a campy true crime drama in my life right now lol.

Gaga isn’t winning. A nomination will be her reward.

Gaga’s accent will be nothing compared to Kristen Stewart’s lol 😂 can’t wait for Spencer’s trailer to drop.
