Is Gaga’s character supposed to be a robot? She looks like one with the way she gestures in the new clip. So OTT it doesn’t feel natural at all.

I really can’t believe you haven’t changed over the years. What is it that Gaga did that made you obsessively hate on her for like 4 years now? Sometimes I wonder if you were part of her staff at someone point and she fired you or something. There has to be something quite important that made you this invested in her.

Yes, she’s doing a robot impression in that clip. Miss Reggiani was famous for her love of robots. Gaga kills it in that scene.

“Evaporate, and leave us cinephiles alone.” 😭

The clip is trash and so is the atrocious performance. Reminds me of the amateur show we used to put on in our Scene Study class.

I am sure an expressionless Russian socialite wasn’t what she was aiming for.

Random question: Has there ever been a performance (actress or actor) that has received the almost universal praise that Kristen has and then missed an Oscar nomination? I’m not wanting that to happen to her by the way, just interested if there has been a snub like that before.

It happens almost every single year

    FYC:
Best Director: Edgar Wright, Guillermo Del Toro, Jane Campion
Best Picture: Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress: Kristen Stewart, Thomasin McKenzie, Rooney Mara, Tessa Thompson
Best Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper
Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins

This. I get the impression that many newcomers here think it’s unprecedented. Every year there’s a few critics darlings with almost universal praise. Some of them go on to win.

And some go on not to hear their names on Oscar nomination morning

He definitely looks as if he’s defeated and just trying to get through it / Driver, not Maurizio. She’s trying to bring up the energy for both of them and it’s feeling off ofc.

What a rough end for what had been called “Driver’s year” – He did try to deliver in Annette and actually did deliver in Last Duel, but this is….🙅

The difference in the effort being put into the accent and the scene in general between the two of them is really, really stark.

He hated VICE too giving it one star lol. So it’s kinda expected tbh. He’s not going to like the movie that is most compared to VICE this year.

Do people actually still pretend that Vice was a good or interesting or provocative or artistic, or literally anything of value, kind of movie?
