Ok, I put her in “Possibilities”. I’ve just sort of assumed all along that she’ll end up being campaigned in supporting. If she’s campaigned in lead I don’t see her as a strong contender in an insanely competitive field for a three-hander medieval period piece from a director who also has another, much buzzier horse in the race.

If TLD ends up being better received than HoG, which is a very strong possibility, I don’t see a reason as to why Comer wouldn’t be a strong contender. And even though it’s a medieval movie, the plot evolves around rape culture, which could definitely help its chances.

most actors don’t look like the real people they play. Lawrence Fishburne nor Angela Bassett looked like Ike and Tina. and those are brilliant performances. Jessica Lange didn’t look like Joan Crawford either….brilliant performance. and the list goes on and on.

I’m seriously so fed up with these arguments. Tom Hanks doesn’t look that much like Mr Rogers either, but he nailed his demeanor and mannerisms to a tee. Honestly, as long as the most important characteristics are there, I couldn’t care less about the rest. Giving a performance in a movie does not equal winning a lookalike contest.

The amount of crap Damon has said in past few days…his screenplay could be horrendous. Jodie will perform well but I am very suspicious the screenplay will bring down the whole movie.

I think someone said that Affleck and Damon wrote the parts from the men’s perspectives and Holofcener wrote the parts from Comer’s perspective. That gives me some hope that it won’t be too bad

Holofcener wrote the parts from Comer’s perspective

Yes she did it was confirmed in an interview with her. At worst, The Last Duel becomes the Jodier Comer show and it misses all ATL categories.

Hi! I’ve read about Spencer test screenings.

Where can we read the first reactions and the first comments?

    Thank you

That could also mean that Comer isn’t as clear lead as trailer wants us to believe. If POV are evently assigned.

gonna have to wait awhile more for an Asian nominee in the Lead Actress category.

Should already have been her last year (a lineup of Davis, Han, Kirby, McDormand and Mulligan would have been GOAT)…

    Oscars FYC:
"THE POWER OF THE DOG" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"SPENCER" – In all categories especially Director (Pablo Larrain) and Actress (Kristen Stewart)
"SHIVA BABY" – in all categories especially Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Score
"TOGETHER" – Actress (Sharon Horgan), Actor (James McAvoy), Original Screenplay
    "FLEE" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"LAST NIGHT IN SOHO" – Director (Edgar Wright), S. Actress (Anya Taylor-Joy/Diana Rigg), Cinematography, Costume Design and Production Design
