    They’re hard to look at

My theory is that Ghostface saw her in that look in the sequel and was like: ‘Nah girl, we cool, I’ll let you live because you’re going through too much”. I just love that character, but it was a difficult time hair-wise for us horror fans.

She says so much with just her eyes, it’s going to be sad to see her not get recognition for her performance in TLD 😢

I think I said it before thart, if LOTR was made today (Jakcson’s masterpiece, not that Amazon fanfic), Comer would have been a phenomenal Eowyn filling Miranda Otto’s iconic shoes.

After watching Spencer last night… now I understand the Rotten Tomatoes score, and yeah, I don’t think Kristen is going to win this.

She was really good, but not mesmerizing.. and with an arthouse film, first nomination, and the competition with very big names doing very baity stuff… I don’t see the gold for her.

Also, I know stats can change, but not BP nomination = no Best Actress win, unless you are an overdue legend or do something extraordinary like Charlize Theron did in Monster.

    FYC

    Best Picture: Licorice Pizza, Mass

    Best Actress: Alana Haim

    Best Actor: Simon Rex

Supporting Actress: Ann Dowd, Martha Plimpton

Supporting Actor: Reed Birney, Mike Faist, Jason Isaacs, Jesse Plemons

Anne Thompson said in a recent podcast she might not win because the Academy doesn’t usually go for subtle performances. Do you agree?

I wouldn’t call her performance “subtle” because there is a lot of accent and mannerisms work, but the whole movie lacked real emotion in my opinion.

Sadly, she really gave one of the best performances of the year. If only the movie didn’t tank at the B.O

Watts is GOAT in MH and that’s a stone cold fact. Pitty that her career never reached the heights of Blanchett or Kidman (to stay on Aussie side) for whatever reason. Perhaps because she never had a chance to match or surpass MH with anything?

It’s incredibly difficult to even match Mulholland Drive given that both the film and her performance in it are all-time greats. She’s had plenty of award-worthy performances since then though (21 Grams, King Kong, The Painted Veil, Funny Games, Eastern Promises, The Impossible, Birdman, Twin Peaks, The Loudest Voice). She just isn’t as big of a celebrity, and hasn’t experienced the career resurgence that Big Little Lies provided Kidman.

    For Your Consideration:

Carrie Coon, ‘The Gilded Age’ (no I haven’t seen it, but we have no choice but to stan anyway)

I watched “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” yesterday… Jodie Comer is Ray’s mum, lol… 😂 She’s there for like 3 seconds, though…

    THINK (and my prediction)
    Stewart
    Colman
    Kidman
    Gaga
    Hudson

    WANT
    Stewart
    Thompson
    Comer
    Berry
    Cruz

IMO – Stewart, Colman and Kidman are pretty much locked.
