Zach, i see your a film critic, do you think Kidman may sweep the awards?
Was she better that Lady Gaga and Kirsten Stewart? X

December 1, 2021 at 5:01 pm #1204618284Nicole Kidman is the queen of miscast but her performances outshine the mistakes. Olivia Coleman is NOT overdue for another Oscar. Kristen Stewart’s hype is now disappearing because now people are actually mixed on her portrayal of Diana Jessica Chastian is more likely going to miss out for the nomination Penelope Cruz is still a mix bag. Just because she won a Volpi, does not mean a guarantee Oscar nomination
I’m so disturbed darling.

Best Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Bradley Cooper
Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard JenkinsDecember 1, 2021 at 5:25 pm #1204618312Stewart and Thompson so far give my favourite performances in this race (overall is Joanna Scanlan for After Love but she’s obviously ineligible for the Oscars) but I wouldn’t mind Olivia winning (she truly is transcendent in The Lost Daughter) or Nicole who should already be a two time Oscar winning actress!
FYC:
"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")
December 1, 2021 at 5:31 pm #1204618318People saying Kristen’s hype is dying down. Don’t know in which world. Here in India, she almost trends once a twice a week. Still seeing some good reviews in Twitter. She has remained frontrunner since September.
It’s fine you don’t like someone or I am not saying she might win everything, but trying to discredit someone with no actual facts is dissapointing.
Her performance is one of my fav performance of the year. Hope for the best for her in this award session. My girl deserves the best.

December 1, 2021 at 5:47 pm #1204618349I really think this race is between Kidman, Colman and Chastain. I know that is not a popular opinion around here, but early critics awards and wins are pointing to this. Chastain is not forgotten about, no one cares that Tammy Faye flopped, she was raved. She already has 3 or 4 awards under her belt for the film. Colman has a win already for TLD and I think the Gotham Awards showed that TLD has a lot of passion behind it.

I don’t think the hype has died but i wouldn’t mind Nicole winning the Oscar, she’s one of my favorite actresses, though I’m sure Kristen is gonna win.

December 1, 2021 at 5:57 pm #1204618372Kristen is still the frontrunner, however, since she’s been the frontrunner since Venice and the ceremony is still almost 4 months away, new contenders are coming, especially Kidman and Olivia, and people might go for someone else after realizing that Stewart may not have the best performance to keep her as the “undeniable” winner, like what happened with Chadwick and Hopkins.

Certainly hype hasn’t died down yet. But I am not saying she is undeniable. Nicole is a veteran with so many acclaimed performances. And it’s natural for some one who has buzz since the beginning to slow down a bit when other strong performances come up.
Still enjoying this season coz of involvement of Kristen’s name. Hope she gets recognition for her immense hardwork since years.
