So Kristen just got honored by her industry peers at the Gotham awards and her and Pablo had a Spencer screening and Q&A for Oscar and industry voters at it went well plus she’s campaigning well . But she looses some critic awards and a volpi and she’s not one of the frontrunner no more. That’s Delusional She’s top 2 for the Oscar until she looses bafta. Critic Awards help build momentum. Kristen is a lock and has had momentum since Venice.

To be fair to Kristen, this logic is being applied to everyone, not just her. Jessica misses something, she falls down. Gaga wins something, she shoots up. Everything is so volatile at the moment that people are just guessing at this point. At the end of the day, though, I don’t think anyone denies Kristen is at least a lock for a nomination.

“Evaporate, and leave us cinephiles alone.” 😭

And reactions to THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH screenings are stellar (so far)
I am loving the chaos. McDormand coming for acting Oscar nomination #7… God! What a mess of Oscar race

I believe McDormand is just like Streep: if she’s in the race, she will make it until the end of the race. The AMPAS loves her. BAFTA loves her. SAG loves her.

I’ll admit I underestimated her myself, but the reactions are promising (as if she even needs them to be)…at this point I just wonder who she’s kicking out?

Well, the thing is that she personally doesn’t give a shit. And her three wins were carried by Best Picture contenders…

The way in each of the acting categories people keep saying a new contender is “kicking someone out” but then each contender is like…

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

To be honest… hands down about this best actress race. I will just play by the odds and wait for the televised awards

    Edgar is just tired

Is it really gonna be Stewart, Gaga, Kidman, Colman and McDormand… My question is if Frances was so good, why she’s not appearing in the critics circles? I mean even Hunter and Washington from the same movie managed to get nominated/win. So…

Frances tends to do well with critics. So her absence made me feel the performance is not necessarily Oscar worthy.

I am not sure exactly, the movie is highly acclaimed and will propably open to good audience scores. Frances is missing in many critics circles but we may see her later appear. This season is bit weird.

Yeah I’ll take reactions from “locals” with a grain of salt to be honest. We’ll know by next monday. If her performance is really good, she’ll be nominated across the board.
