    Well…

    1. Nicole Kidman, Being the Ricardos

    2. Kristen Stewart, Spencer

    3. Cate Blanchett, Nightmare Alley

    4. Lady Gaga, House of Gucci

    5. Halle Berry, Bruised

I’m very close to pulling the trigger on that #1, but I think Stewart and Blanchett are threats (I still have Stewart winning atm with Blanchett in second)

To be fair, the speediness of getting from part 3 to part 4 is thanks mainly to the pointless arguments over Kristen Stewart’s acting (again), Promising Young Woman (even though that doesn’t even pertain to this year’s race?), and varying arbitrary insults.

Could we please refrain from that and just be civil?

Yes. It’s just because I can see Being the Ricardos getting nominations above the line more easily than Spencer + probably more accessible. also, Nicole is in excellent moment for a second. But I beat Kristen as the critics darling and both on top2.

Jennifer Lawrence gives me Tom Hanks in The Post vibes

Not only overshadowed by her co-lead, but missing because of how stacked the category is.

Lawrence will comeback but not for DLU. The Elizabeth Holmes biopic, Bad Blood, also directed by Adam McKay will be a sure fire nomination.

Every contender in this race so far—with the exception of Jennifer Hudson, again—looks like they may well be snubbed because of reception to their film. Hudson may too, but at this point I just doubt it. Lady Gaga looks the next-closest to a lock sight-unseen, at this point entirely on the basis of star power. Hudson & Stewart’s positive test screenings are the only thing we have right now. And none of those 3 have the films that look like the best contenders, that’s Blanchett & Dunst. So I just don’t see the packed race many others seem to see.

Would LOVE a Halle Berry comeback, I keep wanting to put her in that 5th slot but I remain hesitant for the time being.

Her movie has to garner critical support.

You know the Academy is Noah’s Ark about Black people. Two at a time only.
