I love Olivia Coleman and after reading a lot about her new movie and performance I could see her getting a nom and I would love that! Ultimately I will always pull for Gaga to be favored to win and I’m crazy excited about HoG! But the contenders for nominations this awards season seem to keep getting better and better! Gaga – Gucci Olivia – Lost Daughter Halle – Bruised Penelope – Parallel Mothers Kristen – Spencer OR JHud – Respect

    hmm… just why god</p>

    FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION DARLING.
Tessa Thompson, Lead Actress for PASSING
Ruth Negga, Supporting Actress for PASSING
Charlotte Rampling, Supporting Actress for BENEDETTA
Martha Plimpton, Supporting Actress for MASS
Arawinda Kirana, Lead Actress for YUNI
Kathryn Hunter, Supporting Actress for THE TRAGEDY OF MACBETH

Halle Berry is coming with something different.

    -Self Directed
    -Original Role
    -Non-Biopic
    -MMA Fighter

She is really bringing something different. She has worked her behind off with Bruised. 20 years after her last nod/win.

I’ll conduct a series of Best Actress polls to get an idea of which winners have aged the well. Only winners will be under the poll (not snubs). I hope it will give us an idea of the trends of Best Actress winners.

The 2001 poll is available at Polls Section of the Forum. It’ll be great if you’ll cast your ballots.

I saw Annette, and Marion Cotillard isn’t going to be a contender for it. She was fine with what she was given, and is overshadowed by Simon Helberg  and Adam Driver. The film ultimately belongs to Driver and its his show.

I sincerely hope Lady Gaga does not get a nomination for House of Gucci.

I sincerely don’t understand what’s the point of saying something dull-witted like that without even see her performance, they won’t gift her a nomination, she will get if there is general consensus about her performance.

It’s the same like spelling Elisabeth Moss with a “Z”. It’s just strange that people still don’t know how to spell their names.

I think they’re going to take a break from Frances McDormand and I think she will be frauded in Supporting so she doesn’t take away the spotlight from Denzel and her husband.

Putting McDormand in Supporting wouldn’t be fraud at all if she has a similar amount of material as Lady M does in the play.

Well, not everybody is great with spelling, and frankly, not everybody cares. I don’t know why people get so upset about something like that. It’s not like Olivia Colman or Elisabeth Moss are ever going to read any of these threads. People butcher my name at work all the time, that happens, and I’m sure most of the times it’s without malice. And it’s not like Elizabeth and Coleman are not also very common ways of spelling those names.

Not trying to attack anyone of course (just quoting Luca’s comment because it’s the most recent one), but it’s seriously confusing why people always assume bad intentions on here when there are many other more plausible explanations.

I don’t know if this is an official poster but if she is billed over Denzel I think she’s going to be leading. I also don’t think Joel Coen would take up this project just to give his wife a supporting role.

As far as I’m aware we’ve only seen the still and not a poster. Also the text layout is terrible and it’s square so I’m going to assume it is fan made.

And my point is that if they stick to the play McDormand will be true Supporting and it wouldn’t be fraud, not that she definitely will be in this film version.
