Sally Hawkins(Happy Go Lousy) was the critic’s darling(hard on) in 2008 and failed to get a SAG, BAFTA(from her own peeps) and Oscar nomination. Same fate for Stewart is coming.

Stewart is a great example.

If she is not top2, she is not getting in because the jury won’t prioritise her especially if they factor in her baggage (Diana topic hits too close to home + her son is the president).

But the thousands of Bafta/Oscar voters could still get her in. This jury system makes it unpredictable.

This is not gonna happen, let’s be real here they only using her for ratings. I bet on Kidman coz Kristen’s snub at SAG cleared the path for ha. Unless Oscars will decide to be unpredictable this time.

Considering Spencer’s underperformance in the longlist, though, it really doesn’t feel like the industry support is there for her to make that top 2.

I agree that the chances the jury nominates her are nil.

As stated above my top 2 in Bafta are Kidman and Colman it presumably the same at the Oscars as well.

I have Kidman at #1 right now because despite the boycott and everything, her winning the GG is huge. I’m sure that award still has some cache in the industry. Gaga’s #2, though. She’s Nicole’s biggest threat at this point in time.
