Isabelle Fuhrman in The Novice is 10 times better than any possible nominee this year, last year, and next year.

If the Academy had balls, they’d add her in with only a Spirit nod.

But of course, the payola queens will get nominated and win.

Cruz needed to campaign and doing strong promo after Venice since foreign languages movies are less seen in general, not to mention SAG + BAFTA screenings, instead the movie had problems even in sending screeners to voters and Spain didn’t chose it as for its contendent for Intenational movie for the Oscars.

After the Venice win she disappeared (she was filming a movie I think) and she lost momentum, this year was too crowded and she kind of get lost in the mix of names, it could have happened to Chastain since her movie came out in September as well but she has promoted-campaigned no stop since then and that made the difference.

I still don’t exclude a surprise nomination with the Academy when it comes to her, it’s a long shot but not impossible in her case.
