https://twitter.com/filmupdates/status/1440300014429884417?s=21 Tragedy of Macbeth teaser trailer.

I mean, it’s only a minute long, but this definitely looks more like The Lighthouse than Branagh’s Hamlet to say the least.

I agree ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ being black and white isn’t exactly a huge advantage but it is not ‘Lighthouse.’ People will be excited to watch this film for having two prestige actors – Denzel and Frances attached to it. Every naysayer/movie dud bro will take notice until it gets panned.

Not impressed. Stagey. B&W because? Like Belfast, The Lighthouse, The Artist, all those faux-arty movies. No one is winning for this.

My uneasiness with it is that DW and FM are both in their sixties and these characters they are playing are most definitely much much younger – 30’s and at most early 40’s.

Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are often played by older performers. There’s nothing about them that specifically requires youth.

Tbh, not really hyped for Cmon Cmon. Just seems another Oscar bait. Joaquin Phoenix doesnt even interest me. These Oscar baits are getting tiring and boring. Hope The Academy gets a bit weirder.

Macbeth could be a sole Cinematography nominee like The Man Who Wasn’t There. The Roma/Cold War year proved it’s possible to have more than one black and white nominee in this category.

It’s unbelievable how silly the trailer for Macbeth. A24 makes AMAZING trailers!!! They used that one line everyone knows? WHY? Seriously like who asked for this lol, it’s all over the comments. Denzel looks good tho!
