Remember: Except Mank, all IMDb low-rated films (<7.2) eventually got snubbed in BP last year while the late breakers with high scores (The Father, Judas) overperformed. To the defamers of IMDb: we only value if the score is high or low. Only dumb ppl would think “getting the highest score means it’ll be the winner”.

With all late breakers getting sufficient votes, here is the latest IMDb update: (The locked 8 are in bold.)

    (Great)
    1. 8.1/ DUNE
    2. 8.1/ CODA
    3. 8.0/ Licorice Pizza

    4. 7.9/ Drive My Car
    5. 7.8/ West Side Story

    (Good)
    6. 7.7/ C’mon c’mon
    7. 7.6/ King Richard
    8. 7.6/ Tick Tick Boom
    9. 7.5/ The Tragedy of Macbeth
    10. 7.4/ Belfast
    11. 7.4/ Nightmare Alley

    (Okay)
    12. 7.3/ Don’t Look Up
    13. 7.3/ The French Dispatch

    (Low)
    14. 7.0/ The Power of The Dog
    15. 6.9/ House of Gucci
    16. 6.8/ The Lost Daughter
    17. 6.8/ Spencer
    18. 6.7/ Passing
    19. 6.6/ Being The Ricardos

I feel pretty sure BTR and TLD are not gonna show up in BP lineup.

I think Spielberg will take Best Director. They love him, and he tried something different with a musical.

Saying he “tried something different” with a remake of one of the most iconic musical movies of all time is an oxymoron.

West Side Story is very well-directed, and sure Spielberg has never done a musical before, but this is giving him a tad too much credit.

Everyone has already let the “experts” lead them right off the Cliffs of Lemming with the KStew malarky, don’t let them do it to you again. There’s a film about a family that is also a remake which is going to win Best Picture, and it’s not Belfast or West Side Story.
    It’s CODA.

The CODA Best Picture winning predictions might be worse than people predicting Jojo Rabbit to win in 2020.

Now that “Belfast” is losing steam, pundits have to find yet another heartwarming crowd pleaser to try to invent narratives that aren’t there. After “Belfast” and “King Richard”, now it’s time to pretend that “CODA” has a chance.

I think whatever film wins PGA is probably winning Best Picture.

Weird we’ve been told by pundits for months it’s Belfast v TPOTD. Belfast loses steam, loses GG BP/BD.

    Pundits: watch out for CODA.

What?? How about the film that just won GG BP and BD?

It’s pretty much still The Power of the Dog vs. Belfast lol, which is how the race started. I know we all want to be done with Belfast and stop thinking about its winning potential but it’s not fully dead yet.

I saw Macbeth last night and I thought it was fantastic. I’d love if it was nominated for best picture, it would be a breath of fresh air to this category compared to most of the terrible contenders we have this year.

West Side Story is going to win. It’s fine with me that y’all can’t see it but it will win BP.

People just don’t want to accept that West Side Story or Belfast will be the winner, that’s all. Dog isn’t going to win.
