While you make a fair point, I disagree that it “makes no sense” to think that the WGA lineup could look like this: Being the Ricardos C’mon C’mon Don’t Look Up The French Dispatch Licorice Pizza Regardless, I’m back to thinking King Richard is safe for picture again, lol.

i read that The French Dispatch  could compete in adapted in WGA instead of original, don’t know what happend with that

Feinberg saying Branagh needs to win DGA, which he does, is not the same as evidence he’s going to, of which he has none.

If it wins, LP has NBR/WGA combo which would make it stronger for BP than Belfast if it loses DGA.

right, but the major problem with LP is that it’s complicated to be nominated to DGA without golden globe director nom o SAG ensamble nom. I thing the only chance of the movie to be nominated to DGA is if dune is not nominated

I think if the reports are true, Belfast is no.1 at the UK Box Office this week.
Theatres in Northern Ireland are said to be jam packed.

    It’s very possible.

Edit: according to boxofficemojo it is first with +- 3000000.

It flopped at the US box office. Can you point to where anyone said it would be DOA at the UK box office?

    Power of the Dog

    Belfast

    West Side Story

one between CODA, King Richard and Don’t Look Up

    very possible

    Dune

    possible

    licorice pizza

Now that we have to endure another round of “Belfast has to win because it’s a crowdpleaser” remember that TPOTD was second runner up at TIFF & the #1 film globally on Netflix. Not too shabby,

Glad to see that British audiences are willing to turn out for movies outside of franchise tent poles. I still don’t think this means anything for its chances, though, people are just bored.

    Locks

Jane Campion – The Power of the Dog

Steven Spielberg – West Side Story

    Denis Villeneuve – Dune

    I don’t see Branagh as a lock.
