Lol yeah it’s so hard to say anything is her career-best. Yes Melancholia but most days I honestly think Bachelorette, On Becoming A God in Central Florida and Fargo (the trifecta of dark comedies) are bigger career highs. It doesn’t really matter, it’s probably up there with her best performances — and not a leading role at that (or so they say).

So do you think Jenkins will have more screentime than Dafoe?

I’m honestly VERY curious about The Harder They Fall. It looks fun as all hell & it’s actually a TRUE story. Looks exciting & AMPAS freaking owes Idris Elba just as much as literally anyone in contention this year in any acting category.

No idea💀It seems like Amazon filler that funded Clooney.

I wish i had the same level of confidence (or lack of self awareness) of George Clooney, making crap like The Monuments Men, Suburbicon, and The Midnight Sky and thinking “Oh yeah! I’ll keep directing movies, i’m great at it!”.

He keeps getting funding for mediocrity after mediocrity – I think The Tender Bar will have as much awards season traction as those other films did.

The Midnight Sky was just released last year and now The Tender Bar is coming out in December. This bland film churn out rate makes him like some kind of garbage factory.

I got to see a early screening for The Tender Bar a couple of months ago. It was pretty crappy, but it obvoiusly wasn’t done. The cast is really good though. Affleck HAS the baitest part and could easily get nominated, but after they snubbed him last year, I could easily see him getting snubbed. Lily Rabe I thought did the best job, would love for her to get nominated

If that didn’t break though, don’t see how this will. It sounds like a less interesting Mud (also featuring Tye Sheridan).

What’s frustrating about The Tender Bar is that its a great heartwarming accessible book and even a just pretty good director could at least pull off a very good film. I just don’t trust Clooney as a director.

Mmmmmmmmm now THERE’S someone I can get behind 🙂 Let us all do our part to save her from the Ryan Murphy-verse.
