Leto is not getting in. His Dallas Buyers Club performance hasn’t aged well, this is also a possibly offensive caricature. Yes I’d say Pacino has a better shot.

    FYC:
Picture: Passing, The Power of the Dog, The Lost Daughter, Drive My Car
    Director: Jane Campion, Rebecca Hall
    Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Hidetoshi Nishijima
Actress: Tessa Thompson, Olivia Colman, Kristen Stewart
Supporting Actress: Kirsten Dunst, Ruth Negga, Dakota Johnson, Jessie Buckley, Martha Plimpton
Supporting Actor: Troy Kotsur, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jesse Plemons

Pacino should get nominated over that Leto clown.

Yeah, even with the fact that Leto is supported by the whole make up thing, i’m going to start predict Pacino over him.

100%. The trailer put more emphasis on Pacino.

Someone from HoG is getting nominated here, so Leto or Pacino. Mind you, trailer may have highlighted pacino but reactions from screenings highlighted Leto.

The only Leto I want to hear about is Duke Leto Atreides.

For what performance? I thought he had a shot til I saw the movie. he didn’t do anything outside of brooding and being a warm dad for about 2 min. Momoa left longer impression cause he was badass and charismatic and charming af.

But realsitically speaking, only Chalamet and Ferguson had something to do.

Just joking. I love Oscar Isaac and I don’t like Jared Leto. 😅

I think Al Pacino and Jared Leto could both get in depending on how strong the film is overall, but right now it looks like one or the other will be nominated.

    Total tangent but….

Can literally ANYONE give a reasonable justification for why Michael Stuhlbarg didn’t get nominated and win for Call Me By Your Name?? Best fucking thing about the film and probably the best monologue any actor’s delivered in the last few years.

    Like…..HOW?!?

Also, as of now, my gut tells me 4 men from Belfast and TPOTD are all getting in. Dune, Spencer, King Richard, Nightmare Alley, WSS, DLU—none of these films seem to offer strong enough contenders.

    Hinds
    Dornan
    Plemons
    Smit-McPhee

The two films are strong enough, charisma is there, campaign is there, respect + breakout + veteran + reputation + charisma, in an unsettled category.

But whoever that 5th person is—that’s probably who’ll win, and it will likely be an all-white lineup. Maybe, probably that person is Jenkins, I just have this feeling that 5th unsettled person who emerges from critics groups etc will take it and go all the way.

    FYC:
Picture: Passing, The Power of the Dog, The Lost Daughter, Drive My Car
    Director: Jane Campion, Rebecca Hall
    Actor: Benedict Cumberbatch, Hidetoshi Nishijima
Actress: Tessa Thompson, Olivia Colman, Kristen Stewart
