Obviously the audience tonight isn’t fully representative but the TPOTD actors got a lot of cheers. It’s not like the film was a dud.

TPOTD probably has more of an international presence than CODA does. Kodi is not done until he loses BAFTA.

Eh I think Kotsur is winning now. I didn’t get my Bakalova win last year but my second favorite won, same as this year!

The supporting categories are for elders and the role of Anita🤷🏻‍♀️

I just watched Kotsur’s SAG acceptance speech and it was so moving and charming, if televised speeches have any influence in showcasing performers to the voting cohort, I am sure he won a few over tonight.

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

Jesse’s support for Kodi after his acting clip, was sweet.

I guess Kodi wasn’t so unstoppable after all. Troy’s win just shook up this race. The Oscar could go either way. We’ll see who wins BAFTA…

Need to see who wins BAFTA first before deciding what to do with this category. The british branch has already showed that they can be immune to narrative and sentimentality, and I’m not sure if Kotsur’s passion is representative anywhere outside USA (like Ma Rainey)

IDK, Kotsur feels like someone who would benefit from SAG being way more populist. Kodi’s performance might play better with BAFTA voters, who embrace subtlety much more, just like the Oscars. Let’s see what happens at BAFTA.

if kodi wins the bafta it might be a two way race since kodi already has the international and american branch support

Kodi is still the worthy frontrunner, let’s see if there’s an upset at BAFTA and then we can doubt him. With that said, congrats to Troy! (Not so much to the NBR pundits, though…) They do hate Kodi lol I can’t wrap my head around that.

I don’t know what the fuck Kodi has done to Neglia and his clowns. Its almost like he turned down interview requests (which probably isn’t the case) from any of them.

Best Picture: Nightmare Alley, The Power of the Dog
Best Actress: Kristen Stewart, Thomasin McKenzie, Rooney Mara, Tessa Thompson

Best S. Actress: Cate Blanchett, Diana Rigg, Anya Taylor Joy
Best S. Actor: Kodi Smit McPhee, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins

Yeah it’s shameful, I don’t understand them, but they do hate TPOTD (see tweets in which they say that Sag did the best thing this year). Makes you root for Kodi even more, with due respect to Kotsur…

    Jodie Comer supremacy

Everything Everywhere All at Once in all categories
    Luca Guadagnino for Best Director
Martin McDonagh for Best Adapted Screenplay
Brendan Fraser, Colin Farrell for Best Leading Actor
Brendan Gleeson for Best Supporting Actor
Hong Chau for Best Supporting Actress

24 hours ago I would’ve said that Kodi had BAFTA and the oscar in the bag. I’m really torn now because the Kotsur speech was great and I think that alone could sway some BAFTA voters. Still going with Kodi though because TPOTD getting 0 acting wins with 4 nominations feels off.

Troy could win BAFTA I agree, but for now I think Kodi will. TPOTD not doing well at SAG makes sense because the voting body is way more populist, it’s more well received at BAFTA and Oscars so we’ll see what BAFTA does.

Like I said Kodi is just too young to win here, it’s a done deal.

The Power of the Dog isn’t going home without an acting win, so I think Kodi is still a safe bet.

    FYC:

Zar Amir Ebrahimi - Holy Spider (Best Actress)
Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)
Samantha Morton - She Said (Best Supporting Actress)
Kerry Condon - The Banshees of Inisherin (Best Supporting Actress)
