The fact remains that in December I said Kodi wouldn’t win hihi…
I don’t know how you feel about kodi but I had the same (bad) feeling. And not because of ANYTHING that had to do with his work.
I think, after watching and reading about him over a decade that this kid is a gem. He’s dedicated to his craft, and he respects his co stars. Even when they have paws. So much easier rooting for someone who isn’t a verbose self aggrandizng assshole.
His time is coming.ReplyCopy URLThe Sunne in Splendour.
I prefer my roses whiteMarch 17, 2022 at 2:32 pm #1204856448Reminder DONDA is on Twitter and said “There was no way Ma Rainey would miss Best Picture” and spread how “Boseman was locked”. We aint forget your Andra Day predictions either. A broken clock is right twice a day.
Lol. Donda’s revenge, tho

Troy’s winning anyway, but this is a reach.

End him

Yeah it seems since the Bafta defeat of KSM, @Luca_Giliberti has gone rather quiet around these parts. I miss all his “we like to see it” comments, even if it appears that The Power of the Dog is going to join Johnny Belinda and Becket as a one-win-out-of-12-noms contender (and as with Giant and The Graduate, the solo win will be BD), while CODA and others snap up the rest of the categories. As a side note, unlike some, I’m not forecasting a record-breaking 0/12 shutout for TPOTD (which would top by one the blankings that greeted The Turning Point and The Color Purple). It’s gonna get BD, and I’ve never thought otherwise.
Yes, Kotsur will win, on what may well be his sole career nomination (we’d like to see it not be!), beating Smit-McPhee on what may well be his sole career nomination. A real lightning-in-a-bottle year for both performers. Much to be proud of. And Luca’s ode to Smit-McPhee was excellent, even though instead of marking a change in KSM’s fortunes as it was clear Luca was betting on, the piece preceded the additional Kotsur win at Bafta (and at, if you count them – I never do – the Carbon Copy Awards) that likely cemented his coming Oscar win.

Best Original Screenplay: Charlotte Wells
Best Adapted Screenplay: David KajganichMarch 21, 2022 at 7:49 am #1204864239If Troy’s BAFTA win cemented his frontrunner status, ’cause it’s clear that the SAG, Critics and BAFTA winner is the undeniable frontrunner, why Luca or any of us that were rooting for Kodi would go on disputing that?
Kodi started the industry award season as the critics favorite and he got a Globe win. He had many things going on for him, while Kotsur and CODA were far behind, but their latest surge has changed the picture and we’re not delusional about it, why should we?
If you take pleasure in gloating because our favorite supporting actor is not the projected winner anymore, well, that’s self-explanatory. But Luca, as many of us Kodi supporters, has never disrespected anothers who were rooting for a different contender (a behaviour often displayed by pundits like Zoe Bryant on Twitter). So enough with the spite.
