And for the record, I never said DeBose couldn’t win. I just said I was skeptical. Big difference.

If Toni Collette doesn’t win or even get nominated I’ll rage. She deserved that Oscar for the sixth sense

I am betraying my atheism and praying just so she can get as little as a nom. Mass is just… incredible

There might be Meryl fatigue within the industry. Between her Globes snub for The Prom & a sentiment that she’s become “over praised”, it could be a while until Streep receives another nomination. Don’t Look Up will be a major contender so maybe she’ll get in if the performance is undeniable.

Jayne Houdyshell has now overtaken Toni Collette’s 5th place spot in the combined odds, thereby dropping the latter actress to 6th.

    • FYC: Everything Everywhere All at Once in any and every single category, especially Best Picture, Michelle Yeoh in Actress, Stephanie Hsu in Supporting Actress, The Daniels in Director/Screenplay, Paul Rogers in Editing, and Son Lux in Score.

Recently watched CODA and I loved it! Marlee has a limited screentime and her character is not that big but I would love to see her nominated again after 35 years of her historical win.

Best supporting actress is such a whoopey hoopey race; anything can happen! So I go with this lineup as of August 2021:

    Audra McDonald – Respect
    Toni Collette – Nightmare Alley
Kirsten Dunst – The Power of the Dog
    Ann Dowd – Mass
    Charlotte Rampling – Benedetta

Dark horse: Ruth Negga, Sally Hawkins

    2023 Oscar
Best Picture: The Way of The Wind
    Best Director: Decision to Leave
    Best Actress: TAR
    Best Actor: The Whale
    Best Supporting Actress: The Whale
    Best Supporting Actor: Poor Things
