I do think Negga has ‘moments’. Whenever the camera is on her she is totally electric. A credit also to Rebecca Hall. I’m aware you prefer Tessa’a performance, which I agree is nuanced & layered, but for me Negga is simply a revelation here and she should be given opportunities that match her talent moving forwards. Why haven’t we seen her cast in more projects? Also – range! Could not be more different than her performance in Loving (extremely underseen by GP and underrated IMO).

I agree with you. I think Tessa’s the bigger revelation but they’re not competing with each other like Dowd & Plimpton so I cannot disagree with you one bit 😀 Negga is the GOAT. She has much more going on there than we see also, if you haven’t already I highly recommend the book, it’s STUNNING.

Both yours and alittle03’s FYCs are *chef’s kiss*. The taste is IMPECCABLE. I’m not so hot on Mass as a film (I dunno actually know why… I really thought I’d love it!) but TASTE regardless.

November 20, 2021 at 6:00 pm #1204591346Ruth Negga is, as her co-star Tessa Thompson has put it, “beguiling”.
Both of them are worthy in their respective categories.

Thank you both so so much! Both of your FYCs are simply splendid, as well.
